Clearly I have better things to do than listen to your stupid problems, but if you insist on leaving a message, feel free. I'll ignore it without listening to it later.
[This time Cehd'ra's making sure Umeda gets his cigarettes. Near the middle of the week, whenever Umeda gets up from the dinner table for just a moment, there will be a package of stiff blue paper waiting by his plate when he returns. Inside is a brass tin packed with loose leaf tobacco and small white papers.
[He cried. It was only a few tears, but the little tin of tobacco and rolling paper just . . . he didn't know who'd let the box, and he didn't know how whoever it was had known, but it was just . . . yeah. Umeda tucked the supplies away into an inner pocket and cupped his hand over the small bulge, feeling shaky and vulnerable.
One day maybe he'd figure out who'd gifted him, but at the moment, he was just so touched that someone seemed to care . . .]
[It was easy to be hidden nearby and watch. Part of him thought it was overmuch but the last time he'd tried to just leave something for Umeda it had never reached him. He'd linger long enough to be sure he got it, that was all, and then he'd slip away.
He hadn't expected the flash of tears of the faint sound of a sniffle that went with them. Did he not like them, or...no, no he was keeping them and Cehd'ra breathed easier once more.
...best not to linger all the same. Cehd'ra padded quietly away, spying no longer.]
